Yesterday was the monthly luncheon of the Women's Division of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce. The guest speaker was Orem Mayor Jim Evans, who is also the C.E.O. of Xactware in Orem. The meeting took place on the Xactware Campus.
The Utah Valley Chamber Women's Division does a lot of great work in our community. They support and participate in community service, humanitarian aid, projects for civic betterment, and honor individuals who make a difference in our community.
They value and encourage education, career exploration and preparation, and personal and professional development.
They encourage and support the arts, humanities, and recreational activities that bring families and communities together.
They also encourage learning about government, the free enterprise system, and participate in democratic government.
It's been an honor to participate with the Women's Division, to learn, and to mingle with friends in the community like Margaret Black, Orem City Council Member.
Shiree Thurston is always active in our community, giving lots of time and service.
The same is true of Gayla Muir, who is also the Treasurer of the UV Chamber Women's Division.
The Women's Division also supports the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce in its programs to improve the entreprenurial spirit and business climate of our cities.
The Utah Valley Chamber Women's Division is always open to new members, both adult and students. For more information go to www.uvuwomensdivision.blogspot.com or email uvuwomensdivision@gmail.com.
