I Love to Perform.

This week I had the great opportunity to help my friend with his eagle project! In an effort to raise money for cellos at Lakeridge Jr. High, he organized a fundraiser concert at the Provo Town Center where I got to perform! In addition to various acts who performed before us, I recruited my brother and his friend to sing with me, and we had a great time!

I played a piano solo, sang a solo (which turned into a duet), and I played the guitar and sang; on top of that my little brother performed a couple piano solo's and some legit guitar songs with his friend Shawn!
Good times :)

This little piano surprisingly had a really good sound!  I felt pretty cool having my songs echoing through the halls of the PTC.

My handsome little brother accompanied me on the piano (and played a couple awesome solo's of his own) and his friend Shawn is singing with me! I totally forgot the lyrics mid-song so I made him come join me :) We improvised some random harmonies and made it work despite my shortcomings!

Not gonna lie, I felt a little high maintenance making these boys hold my microphones for me!
This is Ben! He did a great job planning out this whole project and I was grateful to be a part of it! I am a big believer in the importance of the arts in school. Music, art, and theater all add so much to the school systems and benefit the students in more ways than one! I can easily say that his cause was a worthy one that I fully supported!

I just happened to run into another pageant girl, Coryne North!

As always, I loved performing!!! Every time I get to sing or play with this crown on, my gratitude increases for this wonderful program.

Golfing Party

Hello everyone!! I cannot believe summer is coming to an end. The royalty has had lots of fun doing various events all summer long, but we're not done yet!

Jackie and I teamed up and volunteered at the Utah Open this week! We felt very official in our matching polo shirts and we made lots of friends. We enjoyed soaking up the sun and helping with this tournament for the Special Olympics!! Since we were there alone we had to take our pictures in selfie mode, so enjoy a small sample of our experience!

Clearly we had too much fun in the golf carts :)

Dancing Under the Stars!!!!
Later in the same day, I joined Amy at the Scera show called "Dancing Under the Stars!" I had been so excited to go all day, but when the show started, so did the storm. Everyone was there in ponchos and blankets, but the storm triumphed over all. The show was postponed until the next night which I was not able to go to. However, the small sample we saw in the rain was awesome! I know the show was wonderful because the Scera always performs wonderful shows! Amy and I had fun representing the royalty, even if it was for just a few minutes :)

With much love,

New Pool in Town!

The Miss Orem and Teen royalty had such a great time at the Grand Opening of the new leisure pool at the Orem Rec center! We were honored to be invited and even recognized on the official flyer :)

One of my favorite things was
handing out mini beach balls.
I made lots of little friends as they
all crowded around and asked for one.

I love my little brother. He came on his birthday and I had everyone sing happy birthday to him and to the new pool.
My neighbor, Syntha Hurst, played a very influential role in building the rec center in the first place. She is an inspiring woman and I'm grateful for her contribution that has brought us this awesome building!

yea, it was really hot.

The official ribbon cutting!!!

Unlike a few others, I did not get in the water all the way. But I am glad the rest of the royalty and the Mayor were cool enough to do so :)

First one down the slide! Our Mayor is awesome.

Yupp, there go our girls!

I love these awesome, adventurous girls. Never a dull moment here!

I didn't get wet, but I did get to kiss the cougar:)

It was so nice to finish up the morning with a free lunch! Nothing better than free hotdogs. I was so glad to see so many people from our community come and enjoy this grand opening. It was a pleasure to be a part of it and I know this new pool is going to bring a lot of fun times to Orem.

Owlz Game

National Anthem!!!
A couple weeks ago, Amy and I had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem for the Owlz game! Our preparation consisted of singing during the waiting time at the parades; we figured if we could sing the song in front of a bunch of random floats at the parades, we could sing it at a baseball game.

Amy is awesome. I loved singing with her, she sang soprano and I harmonized and it was really fun!
Plus, we loved having Presley stand out on the field with us.

must add the classic pageant wave.

We were facing the flag...not avoiding the audience.

I am loving all the opportunities that come with being Miss Orem! Everything I do with this crown on just reminds me how much I love serving the community. This year is going by too fast!!!
