Veterans Day

Freedom is never Free. On this special day we commemorate those individuals who fight for our country to ensure our nation's freedom.

To kick off Veterans Day weekend, Miss Orem Teen, Miss Provo and myself took part in Mountain View Highschool's Freedom Assembly.

We sang God Bless the USA. A song that I have loved to sing since my elementary school days.

We dressed to match with navy dresses and red lips. Miss Provo, Kaiti Purse is becoming into a good friend of mine! But how could I not love my Sister City?

Then today at the Orem Cemetery I gathered with the City Council to celebrate this blessed day.

It was a beautiful service! Not even the chilling of the bitter cold could damper our spirits.

Today is a day to look for the brave who stand for our country.
Please take the time to find a Veteran and ask them to tell you their story.
We heard the story of Sgt. Long today, and in listening to his inspiring words it helped remind me to be a citizen who stands proud of my nation and thankful for those fighting for our country.

Saying Goodbye to Summer

Coming into the fall, the end of summer just wasn't sinking in!
I mean, the weather hasn't gotten too chilly yet...
But sadly, the harsh reality to the end of Summer came as me & the girls finished our last parade.

Now, the drive up to Midway was completely worth it! Swiss Days was an absolute blast!

And of course we had to meet these beautiful Swiss girls!

Now I must say, I was so impressed with the sanitation stations!
 They call him "T-Bone"

And who we get to meet??

Good Ol' Ronald McDonald! What a treat it was.. sadly he didn't have any extra Happy Meals

Now the Miss Orem Royalty has conquered all the Parades that Utah Valley has to offer :)
We've run into so many new and fun things, and have met some friends along the way too!

I even got to sing the National Anthem at the Orem Owlz Game!

What will the changing leaves bring?
School projects? Ribbon cuttings?
Too Soon to tell.. but I can tell you, We are ready for anything!

New York Dance Nationals

Flying far from Orem City, my dance studio, Center Stage Performing Arts, traveled to New York City to attend The Dance Awards National Competition!

Little did we know that we would win as the Top Studio of the Year! Out of over 160 different studios, we felt honored as we collected $25,000 to our studio.
No one will forget the Dance studio from Orem, Utah :)

My Papa never hesitates in sweeping me off my feet!

Thanks to the internet, my Family was able to watch my dances live stream! All the way from Utah, California, and Texas!

Walking the streets of New york, and seeing the 4th of July fireworks on the Hudson filled in the riveting excitement that New York holds!
And though I do love the big city, I was so happy to be hopping on the plane back to Happy Valley. :)

A Time of Change

Between the parades and and summer fun, this summer marks a monumental time in my life, I am becoming a college student!

Starting at BYU this summer, I don't think I knew what i was jumping into! However, despite the busy days, I am filled with support, so I know i can do it!

This darling turtle is a gift my mother gave me to remind myself to take each day at a time.

With moving out and living in the dorms I have the best Roommate! We have made monumental steps together as we have successfully shopped for groceries and folded our loads of laundry. All while attempting to keep our room clean :)

My Life is changing before my eyes, How exciting it is!

Orem Summer Fest

What would summer be without Orem's Summer Fest?

Kicking off the week with a wonderful dinner and Recognizing this year's theme of a "Legacy of Service."
This year, the late Mayor Washburn was honored. With filled hearts, his family accepted the award.

We also filled the night with talent from the city! We had some wonderful Performances!

Maddi & I were also able to perform! Our first duet together, and I was able to save a clip for ya'll to see :)

And so the festivities began!

Gathering with friends, old and new,  the day was filled with adventure! Walking around the booths, you never quite know what you'll find.

Highlight of the weekend:
The Orem City Parade!

I think the pictures speak for themselves :)

I do love these girls! How joyful it is that I have them with me.
And together the weekend was a success! Orem City knows how to celebrate,
I simply am thankful to be apart.
