From Here to There and Everywhere

Life has been so busy lately! Between school, work, and events, it's been hard to find the time to document all of the happenings during my reign! No worries, I will catch up :). To start, I want to focus on this past week:

On Tuesday, Daisy and I had the opportunity to participate in the ALS Golf Fundraiser put on by MDA at Thanksgiving Point. Our duties consisted of passing out red tees and mulligan vouchers to the golfers.

We had a grand old time! The staff of MDA are so easy to talk to and you feel like you're their best friend within minutes!

Later that night, Jackie had her send-off for Miss Utah's Oustanding Teen. She looked beautiful, confident, and performed well in every area of the competition! It was so great to see all the people there to support her. We all knew she would represent Orem well!

On Wednesday, I got to attend the Fall Party at Equinox IT Services! I got to take fun and crazy pictures with all who came and drew for the raffle. It was great getting to know the head of the company as well as the staff. We chatted about college, pageants, what it's like working at the company, and music. Everyone was so friendly and talked about how much they love their jobs! They even started to convince me to apply!

Friday was a very busy day! I first presented my platform to second-graders at Aspen Elementary School. They were all so cute, and it was great to talk about strengthening SELF esteem with them. All of them were so interactive and eager to answer questions and participate! I'll be revisiting them in a few weeks so I'll have pictures.

Later that night, I emceed and performed at the "Why Teal?" Benefit Concert at UVU. The purpose of the concert was to raise awareness about ovarian cancer, its victims, and what we can do to help the cause.

Charlotte Lawrence and her family planned and executed the event SO well! They had everything planned, and are extremely dedicated to the cause because Charlotte herself is a survivor of ovarian and cervical cancer. She is an amazing lady and I was lucky to present the entire event.

The entertainment for the night was phenomenal! Dancing with chairs, advanced piano playing, singing, and videos comprised the night. I was blown away!

I even got to meet and speak with some of the performers backstage and after the show! We had a lot of fun dancing to the music behind the curtains :)

The next morning I attended the "Walk for Alzheimers" at the Provo Riverwoods. There were so many people who attended to support the cause. Including the mayor, his wife, and members of the Provo City Council. It's always great seeing the mayor, his wife, and city council! They are so friendly and make sure they attend most - if not all - the important events in Orem. We are so lucky to have them represent our community!

The tribute wall displayed victims of Alzheimers Disease. To walk in honor of these people made the experience that much more meaningful.

I met plenty of new people at the event! There were so many cute kids supporting their relatives, friends, or the cause in general. One cute girl, Samantha, was so excited to see my crown! I let her see and touch it, then she asked if I lived in a castle. She was adorable, and we also talked about our love for pink and ladybugs.

There were so many volunteers helping out and they were all optimistic and easygoing. They let me take pictures with them, play the games their booths offered, and spoke to me about their businesses. It was a privilege being able to interact with them!

Of course we have to mention the Harley Davidson mascots. They are known for their crazy, wild behavior as you can see below! They even attacked my friend Lea!! But it was great to have them there at the event. They put the "fun" in "fundraiser"!!!

Even though I'm a Ute, I put aside my differences with Cosmo to take a couple pictures.

The actual walk was very peaceful. I was able to meet several clients from senior center homes, and was also able to walk with those whose loved ones have suffered from the disease. We talked about music, fiddling, family, and life.

After the walk, I was invited to ride in a hot air balloon. Yes, A HOT AIR BALLOON. I have been wanting to ride in one since I could walk. The people who manned the balloon were so kind to let me ride in it not once, but twice! It was one of the most exhilarating moments of my life.

Later that night, I got to watch Miss Utah's Outstanding Teen in support of Jackie. She carried herself so well onstage and performed so confidently! I was so proud!

It was also great being able to watch the pageant with one of my favorite pageant people - Lindsey Lloyd! #pageantwatchingbuddies4life

What an eventful week! I love serving as Miss Orem. I am so grateful to have all of these opportunities and meet so many different people. Sometimes it's hard to manage school, work, and the crown, but it is 100% worth it. I don't want it to end!!
